Following breakfast, your local guide will lead you through Stone Town’s maze-like streets, where carved doors, lively bazaars, and crumbling Omani-era buildings reveal centuries of layered history. The morning includes visits to the Old Fort, the House of Wonders, and the former slave market site, each giving context to Zanzibar’s cultural mosaic.
For lunch, you may opt for a well-regarded local restaurant to sample Swahili dishes or return to Golden Tulip Zanzibar Airport Hotel & Spa for a quieter setting. Today, we take a short boat ride to Prison Island, also known as Changuu Island. The island was once used as a quarantine station, but it’s best known for its sanctuary of Aldabra giant tortoises today, some of which are more than a century old. There is also time to walk along the beach, swim, or snorkel in the surrounding clear waters.
Lunch is enjoyed at a local restaurant back in Stone Town before heading to Forodhani Gardens in the late afternoon. The gardens come alive in the evening with food stalls serving fresh seafood and Zanzibar’s signature street dishes. Later, return to Golden Tulip Zanzibar Airport Hotel & Spa for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, we travel from Stone Town to Paje on the southeast coast of Zanzibar, a village known for its wide sandy beaches and clear shallow waters. We stop for lunch at The Rock Restaurant, built on a rock formation in the Indian Ocean. The restaurant is reached by foot during low tide or by boat at high tide. It is renowned for fresh seafood, with dishes prepared using local ingredients and spices. The setting allows for uninterrupted views of the ocean, making the meal an experience in itself.
After lunch, we then continue to Paje and check in at Amani Boutique Hotel. The hotel sits directly on the beach and offers a quiet, private atmosphere. Its pool, lounge areas, and direct beach access create space for relaxation and observation of the coastline. In the evening, you enjoy dinner at the hotel, rounding off the day with time to unwind by the beach or hotel’s pool.

After breakfast, the day begins at Kuza Cave, a hidden limestone sinkhole filled with clear water. The cave is surrounded by jungle, and the small cultural centre nearby shares insights into Swahili traditions, cooking, and music. A swim in the natural pool is refreshing, and the cool underground setting makes it one of the island’s more unusual experiences. If you are looking for more activity, Paje offers excellent kitesurfing conditions with steady winds and shallow waters, ideal for both beginners and experienced surfers. Professional instructors and equipment rentals are available along the beach, making it easy to spend a few hours on the water before continuing south.
In the afternoon, the focus shifts to Kizimkazi, a fishing village known for its coastal views and historical mosque. Lunch is taken here with freshly prepared seafood overlooking the ocean. The setting gives a sense of Zanzibar’s quieter side, away from busier resort areas. Afterward, return to Amani Boutique Hotel in Paje for an evening of leisure.

The Safari Blue trip is one of Zanzibar’s signature experiences, taking place in the protected waters of Menai Bay. The day starts with a traditional dhow sailing across the lagoon, where dolphins are often spotted. Stops are made at sandbanks for swimming and snorkeling, with time to explore the rich marine life among the coral reefs.
A highlight of the trip is the freshly prepared seafood barbecue served under the shade of the trees on Kwale Island, with fish, lobster, calamari, and tropical fruit. After lunch, there is time to relax, swim, or take a short walk to see the island’s large baobab tree. Sailing back in the late afternoon captures the quiet side of coastal life. Dinner and overnight at Amani Boutique Hotel.

After breakfast, there is a final chance to enjoy the surroundings at Paje before your transfer to the airport. Short activities could include a walk along the beach, a quick swim, or sitting at the hotel terrace with a coffee while taking in the morning light. If time allows, a brief visit to nearby shops or a short paddle in shallow waters can be fit in without rushing.
Lunch will be served at Amani Boutique Hotel before the driver takes you to Abeid Amani Karume International Airport for your onward flight. These last hours mark the close to the week, letting you leave Zanzibar with a sense of relaxation while still keeping the schedule comfortable and stress-free.
