It is one of the few places in East Africa where the Big Five – lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, and rhinos, can be seen in a single day.

After breakfast, leave Ngorongoro and drive toward the Serengeti with a packed lunch, allowing time for wildlife viewing along the way. The name Serengeti comes from the Maasai word Siringit, meaning endless plains, and the drive makes that meaning clear as the grasslands seem to stretch beyond the horizon. The park has long featured in documentaries and films, and the reality of driving through its open country gives context to what many have only seen on screen.
By late afternoon you reach Four Seasons Safari Lodge, where spacious rooms, an infinity pool overlooking a waterhole, and quality dining combine with the setting of central Serengeti. Dinner and overnight here prepare you for two full days of exploration ahead.
Meals Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Diner
Two full days are dedicated to exploring the central Serengeti on morning and afternoon game drives, offering the best chances of wildlife sightings. With abundant wildlife year-round, the region is also known for large prides of lions, cheetahs, leopards, large herds of buffalo, giraffes, and antelope. Depending on the season, the Great Migration may pass through, with thousands of wildebeest and zebra moving across the grasslands. Birdlife is equally rewarding, with species ranging from Kori bustards to lilac-breasted rollers.
Optional activities such as hot air balloon safaris, bush lunches, or sundowners can be arranged in advance for a different perspective of the park. Evenings are spent back at the lodge for dinner, with time to reflect on the scale and variety of the wildlife encountered.

You may choose to head out on an early morning game drive before breakfast, which often proves the most rewarding time of day for viewing wildlife as predators are still active and grazing herds begin to stir. After breakfast, your driver takes you to a nearby airstrip for a chartered flight to Zanzibar. Flying from the Serengeti to the island offers a striking change of scene, moving from savannah to the Indian Ocean within a few hours.
On arrival, a local guide transfers you to the Zanzibar Serena Hotel in Stone Town. The hotel combines Swahili design with modern comfort and has views over the oceanfront with easy access to the UNESCO-listed town. After check-in and lunch, the rest of the day is free at leisure.

Following breakfast, your guide will meet and take you on a full-day tour through Stone Town. The morning begins with a walk through the maze of narrow streets where carved wooden doors and old merchant houses reflect centuries of Swahili, Arab, Persian, and European influence.
You then visit the Old Slave Market and Anglican Cathedral, gaining insight into Zanzibar’s role in the slave trade. The House of Wonders and Old Fort provide further perspective on the island’s deep history. The Darajani Market will give you a chance to see the city at work, from fishmongers to spice stalls. Lunch is served at a local restaurant before you continue to a nearby spice plantation.
The tour introduces you to cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, cardamom, and tropical fruits grown here, which earned Zanzibar the name ‘Spice Island’. Your local will explain their cultivation and uses, making it an engaging hands-on experience. Return to your hotel in the evening for dinner and overnight.

You leave Stone Town in the morning and travel north toward Nungwi, a village known for its wide beaches and relaxed pace. The drive takes you past small spice farms and fishing settlements, giving a glimpse of daily life on the island. On arrival, you check into Royal Zanzibar Beach Resort, which combines large pools, direct beach access, and open-air dining areas.
Lunch is served at the resort, followed by an afternoon at leisure. You may choose to spend time by the pool or walk down to the beach, where the soft sand and calm water make it one of Zanzibar’s most popular coastal stretches. Sunset here often draws people outside, with the tide pulling fishing boats back to shore.

After breakfast at the resort, the day is yours to spend as you wish. Nungwi is one of the best places on the island for water-based activities, and the hotel can arrange snorkeling trips, diving, or a dhow cruise, depending on sea conditions.
Kayaking and paddle boarding are also available directly from the beach. If you prefer to stay ashore, you can book a visit to the nearby turtle conservation centre or simply relax by the pool. Lunch is served at the resort, though there are also small restaurants in the area offering seafood and Swahili dishes. The afternoon is ideal for a slow walk along the wide beach. Return to the resort in the evening for dinner and overnight.
