Day 2: Stone Town to Kendwa

After breakfast, take a short boat ride across the turquoise channel to Prison Island, also known as Changuu. The island was once used as a detention point in the 19th century and later became a quarantine station. Today it is best known for its population of Aldabra giant tortoises, some over a century old, and its clear waters that invite swimming and snorkeling along the reef. A walk across the island combines nature, history, and time by the sea before returning to the mainland.

From Stone Town, continue north to Kendwa and check in at Zuri Zanzibar. The resort is set in tropical gardens with direct access to one of the island’s finest beaches. After lunch, the afternoon is free to enjoy the beach or relax by the pool before dinner at the resort’s restaurant.
